We’re young entrepreneurs ourselves, but when we started out as first-time founders, we faced a bunch of problems;
- There was no arena for practising entrepreneurial skills in an experiential way,
- There was no link between the student environment and the established entrepreneurship scenes in different cities,
- We had no idea where we could find other students with the same mindset and interests as us.
We created Early Stage to solve these problems for others coming after us. Here, you have a place to meet like-minded people, build a network, and get valuable, extremely practical hands-on entrepreneurship experience.
We don’t make a lot of money from Early Stage, but we love to see the results we can create when bringing great people together to share and learn from each other. That’s why we do this.

The programme is free for the students selected to participate in the programme, thanks to financial support from our partners, and thanks to corporate customers who buy in-house Early Stage programs for their employees.
Everyone! We value diversity, so no matter what you study, you’re more than welcome to apply.
We welcome your contact info at any time through this 1-minute online form. After filling it out, you will be kept updated when we open the full application, and we will explain the application process via e-mail.
We typically open up for full applications to people on our e-mail list at the end of the summer, and typically announce the selected participants around the end of August.
The programme starts in September, and lasts for 6 weeks. That way, it does not interfere with exam periods at the end of the semester. We will inform everyone who has signed up for our email list about important dates and deadlines well in advance.
In Bergen, Norway. Additional national and international editions are currently being planned with partners at home and abroad.
You and your friends are all welcome to apply, but you must apply as individuals. We do not consider established friend groups or teams when we select participants, so do not expect everyone of your friends to get accepted, necessarily.
YES, absolutely! We spend the first part of the programme generating a bunch of ideas, so bringing ideas in from the start is not necessary. Furthermore, we strongly believe that the ability to execute on an idea is much more important than the idea itself. Therefore, we have more focus on execution than on idea throughout the programme.
Yes, but do not expect to work on that particular idea throughout the programme. You and your team will generate a bunch of ideas in the first weeks, and then collectively decide which ones you want to execute on.
The programme is structured to allow full-time students to participate alongside their normal studies.
We meet two evenings per week, from approximately 17:00-21:00. Additionally, we spend two full weekends together during the programme.
Furthermore, you are expected to work with your team beyond these hours when necessary, but the extent of this is largely up to you.
No, you only get an amazing opportunity to cultivate new skills and meet fantastic new people. If that’s not enough to get you motivated to apply, then this programme is not for you.
Absolutely – we do not ask for past startup experience, but we do require curiosity, drive and motivation from our participants.
Typically from 18~30, with a majority being between 21~26 years old.
